The phrase “Doo Dah” might bring a few memories back for those of us who have been in the Seattle area for some time. Doo Dah was the marketing slogan for the Longacres race track located in Tukwila Washington. Longacres was a fast track built in a different era and a truly magical environment as a kid growing up. It was more than a race track it was a community full of amazing energy and people from all walks of life. This is where we got our start and the family raced there continuously until the tracks closure in 1992.
My finding of this beer glass at the farm the other day, brought back a flood of memories. The PA echoes from the announcer over the summer breeze, the smell of cooking feed in barns, and the clattering of hoofs. What an amazing time in history.
